Christian Louboutin offers different types of signature red soles depending on the style.
Christian Louboutin's iconic red soles are created by applying a signature red lacquer to natural European leather soles. Over time and with wear, this lacquer may gradually fade, revealing the natural colour of the leather beneath.
This wear is a normal and expected characteristic of the red sole and does not constitute a manufacturing defect.
The red soles on our shoes are fragile and must be tried on a clean carpeted surface.
For all specific care advice concerning our red soles, we advise you to contact the cobbler Minuit Moins 7 or you can get more information within our Christian Louboutin boutiques.

A selection of styles is now available with the 'Everlasting Red' sole. Developed through an exclusive process by the Maison, it is designed to preserve the intensity of Christian Louboutin's iconic red for longer, while providing enhanced grip underfoot. The appearance is very similar to leather, with a slightly more polished effect on the front section.
Please refer to the product description to identify the sole featured on the selected style.
All Christian Louboutin products are created using only the highest quality materials. In order to preserve their quality and radiance over time, we advise you to read the following care instructions:
- Protect your leather goods from rain and moisture;
- Store your products away from light and heat;
- Keep the leather area clean and dry using a dry soft cloth of neutral color;
- Avoid contact with abrasive surfaces;
- Avoid contact with alcohol, grease or makeup;
- In order to avoid irreparable color migration, do not store your nude or light-colored items near a black or dark-colored one;
- Store your products individually in the Christian Louboutin dust bag provided or wrapped in white tissue paper.
Christian Louboutin strongly advises that our customers consult a professional in leather care or a shoemaker for specific care advice.
