Step 1 The Alocasia Macrorrihza plants are grown in a nursery for a minimum 6 months.
Step 2 The leaves that are wilting are harvested and the scraps recycled as compost.
Step 3 They are then dyed using a vegetal tanning process that's free of heavy metals, allowing the water to be collected and reused to irrigate other plants.
Step 4 Finally, the leaves are dried in the sun, creating irregularities on each unique piece.
