Christian Louboutin’s private garden
In celebration of the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Christian Louboutin is delighted to partner with Scott’s to design its 2019 summer terrace, bringing the eponymous designer’s signature vision and creativity to the restaurant’s Mount Street façade.
Landscape design is one of Christian Louboutin’s little-known private passions and an integral part of his creative process. The Scott’s x Christian Louboutin terrace takes inspiration directly from his 13th century Chateau in Champgillon, bringing the garden he has designed and carefully nurtured for 30 years to life in Mayfair.
From the light blue tones of the arbour adorned with a canopy of lilac Chinese and Japanese Wisteria, to pops of yellow Osteospermum flowers surrounding the central window, a nod to the French Sun King, Louis XIV, each element has been carefully imagined and hand-picked by Christian Louboutin.
Pots with bold facial motifs encasing irises will line the entrance paying homage to Christian Louboutin’s passion for Portuguese craftmanship and his beloved Lisbon Villa, where similar pots welcome guests on arrival. Rakesprogress, who had the rare experience of visiting the Chateau back in 2017, will produce the whimsical installation.
Christian Louboutin said of the collaboration: “I’ve always been very inspired by flowers. Their shapes, their textures, the combination of colors have a lot of resonance in my work. The Chelsea Flower Show represents the quintessence of the creativity in landscape designs and floral ornamentation and I’m thrilled to bring a bit of the garden I’ve built over the last 30 years in Champgillon, Vendée, here at Scott’s in London”
To mark this exciting collaboration, the Scott’s bar will offer an exclusive cocktail imagined by Christian Louboutin, The “Champgillon”.
The Scott’s x Christian Louboutin summer terrace was unveiled on Wednesday, 22 May, coinciding with the Royal Chelsea Flower Show, live at the restaurant until Tuesday, 18 June.
