Christian Louboutin for Maison Margiela Paris
For the 2024 Artisanal Collection, Maison Margiela collaborates with Christian Louboutin on shoe designs fusing the iconography of the two houses. Conceived in an artistic exchange between Creative Director John Galliano and Christian Louboutin, the six haute couture silhouettes are founded in the ritual of dressing. They feature the shoe designer’s emblematic red sole on every silhouette of the Haute Couture show.
John and I met about 40 years ago when he first moved to Paris. Working with someone you love and respect was really the nice part of the collaboration. Moreover, Maison Margiela has such precise and strong codes that you can refer to, which are very well preserved.

An ode to the excellence of Maison Margiela Atelier, the Pumps crafted with the Tabi split-toe adapt the body-modifying language of the collection in magnified platforms and prothèse-augmented heel caps evoking the outline of hoofs. The counter inspired by the Faux-Cul sculptorial design contributes to amplifying proportions.
The show featured Gwendoline Christies and some special guests, such as Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner attended the show wearing some one-of-a-kind styles from this collaboration.
